Under the expert guidance of internationally acclaimed sitar virtuoso **Indrajit Banerjee**, Antara School of Indian Music offers personalized lessons in sitar and Indian Raga music. Whether you're interested in learning sitar or exploring the rich world of Raga on any instrument—including voice—we welcome students of all levels. Lessons are available both in-person and online for maximum flexibility.
Indian Raga music, in its classical form, is a profound art of improvisation and self-expression. Even in its most minimal form, it offers a unique and captivating musical experience.

- The fundamentals and advanced techniques of sitar playing
- Improvisation within the framework of a Raga
- Composing and creating music rooted in tradition
- Understanding and mastering rhythmic patterns (tala)
- Learning iconic passages inspired by legendary master musicians
### Semester Structure:
Spring Semester (January – June)
Fall Semester (July – December)
*An accelerated semester with classes once a week is an option for advanced students or those wishing to progress quickly and willing to practice daily.
We also host student recitals and exclusive workshops twice a year, offering students a platform to share their progress and engage with the broader music community.
Tuition:
Regular Semester: $600 (includes 10 classes). Payment is accepted via Zelle to 5126963309.
Antara School of Indian Classical Music offers sitar lessons in person (in Austin, Texas) and online as well as workshops and hosts concerts featuring artists from India and collaborations. Lessons are available in both North and South Austin and are $600 for a semester which includes 10 classes ($60 each) and a yearly student recital.
